Jim started his real estate career in 1985 with CB commercial real estate where he specialized in Class A office building representation. Later, he moved on to represent, on an exclusive basis, real estate projects being developed by The Symington Company. These projects included The Camelback Esplanade and Scottsdale Seville, which were two of the premier locations in Arizona.

In 1991, Jim left the private sector and joined newly elected governor, Fife Symington, as a cabinet member serving as Director of the Department of Commerce, responsible for attracting new business in Arizona. Additionally, Jim served as an executive assistant overseeing the Arizona Office of Tourism, as well as business development for the Symington Administration. During his three years of service at Commerce, he revamped and revitalized the agency, which showed dramatic gains in performance and is now regarded as one of the most effective commerce departments in the country.

Since leaving state government in 1994, Jim has been actively involved in many facets of the real estate industry. His primary focus has been on creating interesting development opportunities as well as niche acquisitions with other partners.

Jim Marsh has been active in the Arizona civic community as well as the business community. By way of example, he is a member of The Thunderbirds, a charity organization that operates the Phoenix Open golf tournament. Jim is also an active member of St. Theresa Church and serves as an advisory board member for the Arizona Culinary Institute. His past civic community involvement included being a founding board member of the Governor’s Strategic Plan for Economic Development, Chairperson of the Commerce and Economic Development commission, Chairperson of the International Trade and Advisory Board, Chairperson of the Workforce Recruitment and Job Training Program, a member of the Arizona Motion Picture Board, Arizona Space Commission., as well as past President of Arizona Country Club.

Jim and his wife, Debra, have three children and reside in Paradise Valley.
